UFC fighters are training with Ramzan Kadyrov’s son and his group in Thailand.

Several UFC fighters are presently sharpening their skills with Ramzan Kadyrov’s 15-year-old son and his associates at a training center in Thailand, highlighting the dictator’s increasing impact on the sport.
In January 2022, Khamzat Chimaev and a group of fighters from the Kadyrov-affiliated Akhmat MMA – an entity facing sanctions from the US Treasury for its association with Kadyrov, arrived at the prestigious Tiger Muay Thai training facility in Phuket, Thailand.
The UFC star was joined by Ali Kadyrov, who has become a frequent companion in Chimaev’s life over the past year. The two of them frequently shared photos of their training on social media, including sparring sessions.
Other fighters who were seen training with Ali included former UFC champion Petr Yan, UFC flyweight contender Muhammad Mokaev, Darren Till, and Brendan Loughnane, who is the winner of a Professional Fighter League tournament.
This is not the only time when Ali trained with UFC fighters. Last December, he joined Chimaev in Dubai and trained with members of Chimaev’s Allstar team, including UFC lightweight Guram Kutateladze, as well as former UFC champion Cody Garbrandt.
It’s important to note that the US Department of State has reportedly expressed its knowledge of the potential links between Kadyrov and UFC fighters to The New York Times. However, it remains unclear if these fighters will face any repercussions for their actions.
Ramzan Kadyrov, who has been in power in Chechnya since 2007 and exercises strict control, has been the target of numerous allegations regarding widespread human rights violations, including the persecution of sexual minorities, extrajudicial killings, forced disappearances, and use of brutal violence to suppress dissent.
Despite his extensive history of human rights abuses, Kadyrov remains a significant figure in the world of combat sports through his growing MMA organization and his association with top fighters such as Chimaev and world champion Artur Beterbiev. While he may not frequently attend UFC events in person, he still views the sport as a valuable tool for promoting his message.
In December 2022, Ali made his professional fighting debut at Absolute Championship Akhmat (ACA), a top Russian MMA organization owned by his tyrannical father. With Chimaev by his side, the 15-year-old won the match by TKO in what was widely considered a rigged fight.
